They finally arrive in Brussels where Lewis knows of a cheap guest house where all the Sangers were staying for a few months many years ago. Gabrielle (Stina Ståhle) at the washstand, right, is the mother of one Sanger child, Paul, who is brilliant but has tuberculosis. Mme Marxse (Jullan Kindahl), the landlady, then as now, is making a bad joke about how the bed is very comfortable but how young lovers don't really need a comfortable bed.
